Course Description

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, computer hardware, and data management with an emphasis on real-world applications. Students will explore how to select and optimize computer hardware, integrate AI tools into research, productivity, and creative workflows, and use Excel for data analysis and visualization. Through hands-on assignments, mini-projects, and a capstone AI-powered invention pitch, students will gain practical computing and AI skills applicable to academic, professional, and creative settings. This course emphasizes critical thinking, ethical considerations in AI, and effective use of technology to enhance problem-solving and decision-making. Crosslisted with NLP 105. Students may receive credit for either NLP 105 or MTH 107 only once.
